BackFlower Pot Placemats
Secrets of Embroidery

Using templates and paper backed fusible web enables machine applique to go to the next level. Learn this new method of applique while creating these attractive Flower Pot Placemats.

This lesson on how to do multi level applique is in pdf format. Please note this is not raw edge applique.

These useful placemats/traycloths will become part of your daily life. The pot forms a pocket for holding your flatware and serviette. The finished measurement of the pot with the flowers is 9x12 and 4x4 but made in the 5x7 hoop.

It will be necessary to re-hoop using registration marks, but the instructions will walk you through all that, making it amazingly easy. Detailed instructions come in a PDF file.

This project is not recommended for beginners.

The only sewing you need to do is to make the placemat. A suitable placemat can be purchased or you could use pre-quilted fabric and just finish off the edges.

If you are going on a picnic, put your knives, forks and serviettes into the pockets and roll the placemats up, then tie with a ribbon.
