Twelve detailed blocks with frames and borders to create unique quilts.
The 12 main quilt blocks have been created for 200mm x 200mm hoops. For those with larger hoops the blocks come with 260mm x 260mm frames. These frames are available separately, so it is possible to combine them with any of the blocks.
I have also included one side of each eight of the frames for those who do not have the extra wide hoops. With some careful positioning these can be embroidered around the blocks. A slightly different version of each side is also included as the perfect panel for borders.
Due to the complexity of color within the original elements of the Jacobean Sampler collection, I have changed some colors to reduce the number of thread changes and to give some uniformity throughout so the blocks can be used to create an interesting and colorful quilt.
The accompanying 70 page PDF includes instructions on two methods of quilting these designs in the hoop.

These exquisite quilt blocks will make a beautiful quilt. The elements from the Spring Potpourri collection have a purity and simplicity that quilting enhances. Four of the blocks embroidered together will form a 'Dresden' for the centre of your quilt. I suggest that you add simple sashing between the blocks and leave enough space around each block so the quilt is not crowded.
When testing these blocks I cut 12 inch squares of batting and silk dupion which was interfaced with Floriani Dream weave to prevent the silk from fraying. One layer of Sulky soft and sheer stabilizer was placed inside my hoop and the other layers were floated on top, held in place with temporary adhesive spray before being secured with a box of running stitches which is included in the designs. If you feel confident you may reduce the size of your prepared layers to 10 or 11 inches to avoid waste. I prefer to add the backing fabric after the embroidery block is finished.
