Baby Needle Felting

Needle felting is a really fun and crafty form of art, but there is no need to be an
artist in order to explore its possibilities! Use your embroidery machine, and these
simple appliqué designs to create beautiful needle-felted projects. There are two
sizes of each design, 4x4 and 5x7. The chick designs both fit into a 4x4 hoop, but
one is smaller than the other.
The sweet baby girl vest pictured below is embellished with a needle-felted kitten
design on the front and back. The little boy vest pictured sports the chubby teddy
bears. (The vest pattern is available from A Bit of Stitch here.)
Wool felt, wool roving and felted wool fabric are all recommended for use with these
designs. Although polyester or wool blend felts may be used, 100% wool fabrics work
best, providing a permanent bond.
Important Note. These designs require the use of a needle-felting machine. It is possible to use hand-felting needles to create these projects, but machine needle felting is much faster!
