Basic Crazy Quilting with a Feminine Twist
by Hope Yoder

Machine Setup:
1/4" presser foot, matching thread in an 80 Universal needle, dark all purpose thread in the bobbin, 2mm stitch length. Use a 1/4" seam allowance and do not "tie off" or back-stitch at the beginning or end when crazy quilting (as you will need to rip stitches as you add strips so have your Magic Seam Ripper ready).
Crazy Quilting Overview:
Start with a center "five" sided piece of fabric and then add five strips of fabric counter-clockwise around the center, following the line angles of the five sided piece of fabric. Once you have all five sides sewn, you will continue to add strips going counter-clockwise until the entire surface is covered with fabric strips.
To create a charming effect, insert rayon laces, heirloom edging lace or piping into the seams as you go. Simply sandwich the lace in the middle of placing two fabrics right side together and stitch. Flip lace back as you would a piece of fabric. It may be necessary to tack down the loose edges of lace.
